Hi there everyone
Just a quick note to let you know we’re safe and sound and still in La Paz in Bolivia…
…and also to test out this new email service…
Thanks for the letters of concern, but this so called civil war doesn’t seem to be affecting us.
There have been some deaths and road blocks and rationing since food and transport can’t get through since they have blockaded La Paz, but apparently this happens all the time so the locals are used to it… It’s a part of life here…
The only hairy experience we had was when we were walking back from some Spanish lessons and we saw a demonstration march ahead.
It looked peaceful so we went for a closer look when all of a sudden some dynamite exploded only about 10m from us!!!
The shock threw us back a bit and we were a little shaken but unhurt… just very pissed off!!!
A lady closer to the explosion had some injury to her leg but it looked superficial.
On the local news there looks to be a lot of violence around the place but we’re staying out of it and haven’t been too bothered otherwise.
Spanish lessons are doing well and we can now put together sentences. La Paz is a little boring but we’re using the time to play with the internet.
